Line of Events
After his release from prison, mob capo Dwight "The General" Manfredi is exiled to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he builds a new criminal empire with a group of unlikely characters. Sylvester Stallone’s first starring role in a television series. Dwight "The General" Manfredi: I don’t actually go to church. The opening sequence features various photographed and painted views and Oklahoma landmarks of the New York landscape: The statue of a Sioux Indian chief wearing a War Bonnet and Bone Choker necklace (breastplate) erected on top of the Brooklyn Bridge Golden Driller statue to the Statue of Liberty, Route 66 Western Gateway Arch to a Major Manhattan “Avenue”.
On CBS News Sunday Morning: Episode #457 (2022)
In New York City, the borough of Manhattan, which contains a number of numbered “Avenues”. which are crisscrossed by smaller numbered streets.. I watched it out of curiosity, not expecting much, just surprised to see Stallone in a TV series. You can feel the tension in the scenes, and it seems pretty realistic, as far as the plot would go.
I’m glad someone told him how to use Uber, it was funny while it lasted
I wouldn’t say it’s humorous, but there are some funny scenes about Dwight (Stallone) getting out of prison after a 25-year sentence and not fully integrating into the way the world works; so I assume the sudden transition will cause some interesting mistakes for him, and for us. It’s a pretty clever script, but not in the kind of forcefully witty way that promises to be good. Stallone is a huge presence, of course, but the rest of the cast seems pretty good. The show literally feels like you took gangsters written for an early 90s movie and just threw them into 2022, and it’s a good mix of humor and violence.
I love that it has that western feel to it at times while still being a mobster
I thought this was going to be a throwaway show like some of the Stallion movies have been lately; mostly just relying on his name and his performances, but Taylor Sheridan does a good job here and writes worthy of Stallone’s performances. I think it’s going to be fun to watch the macho Stallone build a criminal empire from scratch, in the middle of nowhere, in Tulsa. I think the show will eventually go under the radar and then get a lot of hype later on from people asking why they didn’t pick it up sooner because I didn’t see that much publicity from Paramount. I went in with no high expectations, but if the premiere episode counts, this could be a really fun watch.
If it keeps going like this, great, if it gets better, awesome
I’ll rank it as more episodes come out and update if anything changes drastically about the show. Check out "Yellowstone" Season 5 Episode 2, "Squid Game" Season 2, and more of the most anticipated new and returning series on TV and streaming.
