Alex Cross uses forensic psychology to analyze the minds of murderers, delving into the psyche of the victims to identify the killers and bring them to justice. Aldis Hodge talks about starring in and producing crime drama Cross, why he should be known as an actor and producer, and his commitment to pushing different narratives through his production work.

Hodge is the third actor to play Cross, following Morgan Freeman, who first played him on screen in 1997’s Kiss the Girls and again in the 2001 sequel Along Came a Spider; and Tyler Perry as the title character in 2012’s Alex Cross , which flopped at the box office and forced Lionsgate to scrap a previously planned sequel, Double Cross . The final victim and our main antagonist especially stand out!

I could forgive this trick being used once, but five becomes comical

Alex Cross also works, but I’d prefer less muscle and more wit to make the character more realistic. On the downside, I think too many plot twists and dramatization gimmicks, a la Shonda Rhymes production starts to get on the nerves towards the end – “dead” characters who aren’t really dead, stuff like that.
