Riot was so impressed with the work that they asked Fortiche to create an animated series, which took them several years to create. After the release of the first season, Riot announced that there would be a second season and that it would take less time to produce. Arcane follows two young orphaned sisters who grow up and get into trouble in the dual cities of Zaun and Piltover. The series is based on the video game League of Legends. and while it does drop you right into that fictional world, the necessary time and care is taken to create the locations and characters in a commendable way.

There is incredible attention to detail

The solid character development and world building means that it is a very enjoyable watch without knowing anything about the game. As an anime fan, I found the animation in Arcane to be superior to anything I have ever seen from an animated series. It is clear that no artistic talent or money was spared in bringing the world of Runeterra to life.

The first three episodes have been released and I can’t wait to see what else they have in store for us!
